Hudson Middle School is excited about our Therapy Dog Program. This program is dedicated to strengthening the literacy and social skills of our students using a registered dog and handler. This team will work with small groups of students during school hours for approximately 15-20 minutes at a time. Also, there will be opportunities to enhance many components of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) when visiting the counselors. Help us welcome…Gunnar!
Gunnar is a certified therapy dog and is registered through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He is insured for liability and has undergone extensive training and registration to do animal-assisted therapy. For students with allergies, Gunnar will be treated before each session with an anti-dander, anti-allergen product which greatly reduces susceptibility for people who are around them. Should you have any other questions, concerns or comments, please email bowerscd@hudsonisd.org, amymchaney@hudsonisd.org, or jenniferlowe@hudsonisd.org.
