Hello Hudson Middle School Community and Students, 

First, let me say that we are very sorry that our students and staff are not able to conduct school as usual.  We would like nothing more than for everyone on a global level to return to life as normal. During this difficult time we have established an education system that we believe is sufficient, but at the same time not over burdensome for our students and parents alike.  It is our goal to deliver the necessary educational content during these first two weeks. Once we have a clearer understanding of our timelines we will adjust instruction as needed. The following information provides a brief explanation of our educational expectations and delivery system.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Hudson Middle School will begin the distribution of educational materials online through Google Classroom. If your child is completing the required material in Google Classroom, there is no need to complete a hard copy packet as well. If your child is unable to access the work via Google Classroom, hard copy packets will be passed out via the Hudson Middle School car rider line from 7:30-9:30 and 11:30-1:30 on Tuesdays only. These times coordinate with district breakfast and lunch times.  These packets will be a review of concepts previously taught in core areas. Please stay in your vehicle and a staff member will deliver a packet for your child. Online student material will need to be accessed via the students’ Google accounts. These materials will be one and the same, just in different formats. At this time, packets will not be turned back in to school but will need to be kept for return at a later date.  All students should be checking their school emails daily.  During this time there will be a homework hotline available at 936-875-9494 but please understand you will not receive a call back as email will be our main form of communication. Thank you for your understanding and support of Hudson Middle School. We will continue to provide any updates or changes as soon as possible.

Dear Parents and Staff:

As the United States is faced with the concern of the new Coronavirus known as COVID-19, I know that one of our most pressing concerns is the safety and education of our children.  I feel it is important to inform our parents and staff that our entire school administrative team is in continual communication with Mr. Webb, HISD Superintendent. In addition to focusing on the preparations being made by our Federal and State officials, we are considering all options to provide the best possible education for our students.  Please know that once we have a clear understanding of our options we will begin moving forward with our best educational plan. 

I believe regardless of the limitations we are facing, our amazing HISD staff and the community as a whole have the ability to rise to the occasion and continue to provide significant improvements for our most important investment, our children.  I have been asked what you as parents can do at home to assist with your child’s education, so I have listed some home educational engagement options below, May God bless everyone during these difficult times.
